Purpose

The leisure capital programme is a key
priority for the council to invest in improvements to leisure
facilities across the city. Currently the program consists
of:
• Thorne leisure centre refurbishment.
• Dome phase 1 dome replacement and phase 2 lagoons
refurbishment.
• Edlington pool design works and proposals
• Adwick and Dearn valley Swimming Pool Support Fund grant
works
Total project work circa £28 - £30m
The support and advice listed below has been identified as
necessary for the programme:
• Provide technical support advice to the capital programmes
(including but not exclusively Dome, Thone. Edlington, SPSF
• Attend key design meetings and programme meetings across
portfolio of works to provide input to support management of
programme
• Provided reports and support CDC internal report request for
programme updates as and when needed, including post construction
snagging and warranty support.
• Compliance negotiation to access signs off against Sport
England guidance, CDC standards and others as identified
• To review technical reports and advise CDC, DCLT on
consequences and options
• To provide Health and safety guidance during the development
and construction phases
• Support on development of JCT contracts and planning
applications.
• To advise and source when necessary technical expertise to
advise on delivery of the programme.
The support is required for initially a 12 month period with
opportunity to extend for further 12 months (this will result in
further application to the council ‘Doncaster Feasibility
Fund’). Break clause reviews will
be at 3, 6 months and extension review at 9 months. The feasibility
support would fund the initial 12 months.
