Content

This decision creates 4 grade 7 Family
Intervention Worker posts within the Early Intervention &
Prevention Service for 12 months and 1 Domestic Abuse Navigator in
Parenting and Family Support Service. These posts will work within
the emerging Family Help model as set out in Working Together to
Safeguard Children 2023 and the refreshed policy for
Children’s Social Care, Stable Homes Built on Love.

Total cost for 1 Year is £187k.

Alternative options considered

The alternative to this decision is to deliver
the Family Help model and learn the necessary lessons from running
and integrated, cross-service team from staff already within the
service. This would impede the delivery of pre-existing services
and limit the impact of the pilot.

Given the nature of the national policy shift and the increasing
need in Doncaster, it was felt this would not be a workable
approach.
