Purpose
The Covid-19 Pandemic widened health
inequalities across Doncaster and the impact on residents physical
and mental health cannot be underestimated.
Background:
During the Pandemic the grant funded Fit Rovers ‘Home
Goals’ project demonstrated excellent outcomes by providing
digital-based activities to enable participatory engagement from
its members to continue during ‘lock-down. In 2022 the
project transitioned to offer a mixed approach of ‘in
person’ activity with the Home Goals element online for entry
level exercise or regular workouts for those
unable to travel. This hybrid, flexible approach proved equally as
good and retained strong levels of participation and
engagement.
