About
The Corporate Parenting Board assists Dorset Council and its partners in fulfilling their legal duties and responsibilities towards looked-after children and care leavers. It promotes understanding and commitment to corporate parenting principles, ensuring the council acts as a strong and active corporate parent. The Board holds the council and partners accountable for service delivery and statutory responsibilities, using management information to monitor performance and track commitments made to the Children in Care Council. It also ensures young people's voices influence decision-making and service development.
