Under Chief Officer urgency powers, extend the on-site commencement milestone set by Cabinet on the 9th October 2025 associated with the delivery of the Mampitts Community Hub Project, Shaftesbury

Reasons for the decision

To allow a small extension of time to enable the legal agreements associated with the project to be finalised and signed prior to the on-site commencement of works. The extension of time would enable the project to proceed to delivery stage, avoiding financial risks that could otherwise arise with any time delay caused by referring the matter back to Cabinet for decision. 

Alternative options considered

A referral back to Cabinet for decision on whether to grant an extension of time to the milestone. This option was considered within the Chief Officer decision. Obtaining a decision at Cabinet would incur an extended time delay, this action was considered to carry risks that could threaten the delivery of the project including additional costs and building contractor availability.
