Purpose

Following the government
announcement on the extension of Household Support Fund (HSF) until
31 March 2026, and the publication of the guidance, this report
seeks approval for distribution of the HSF under the grant
conditions. The council will create a local scheme to allocate and
process grant payments to vulnerable households. The report sets
out scheme eligibility criteria to distribute the funds to
residents together with award mechanisms and application processes
where necessary.
The objective of the HSF is to
provide support to a wide range of vulnerable households in most
need of support to help with living costs.
