Purpose

This report seeks approval to procure a
contract for a Tier 2 Weight Management Programme for adults and
young people (14+) in the London Borough of Ealing. The programme
will deliver structured weekly lifestyle interventions, including
nutrition education, physical activity, behaviour change
techniques, and peer support, with delivery in partnership with
voluntary sector organisations where possible to build on connected
communities work and learning. The total contract value is
£1,000,000 over five years (£600,000 initial term plus
£400,000 optional extension).

It is recommended that a contract is procured
under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime)
Regulations 2023 (PSR) using the competitive process, which will be
an open tender procurement process. The programme addresses
significant public health challenges identified in the Joint
Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) and Fingertips data and supports
strategic priorities including NICE NG246 and the NHS Long Term
Plan. The decision maker is asked to approve the procurement
route.
