Purpose

Ealing council has a number of high-rise
buildings (HRBs) (over 18m in height) and lower height blocks that
require M&E Improvement Work programmes to upgrade the MEP
(mechanical, electrical, plumbing) services.

This programme is necessary due to the ageing condition profile of
MEP services within HRB and lower-level blocks originally built in
the 1960’s. These are significantly past their estimated
lifecycle and have been underinvested for a number of years.
Failure of lateral and rising mains, as well as individual homes,
are impacting residents and adding additional annual cost to the
revenue account from increased repairs and temporary power
measures.
