Purpose
The Community-led Regeneration Charter (CRC)
is a non-statutory document co-developed between the council, the
community and other stakeholders involved in growth and
regeneration projects. Framed by the council’s Connected
Communities vision and the Community Charter (July 2025), the CRC's
principal purpose is to set out how communities can effectively and
meaningfully engage with and inform projects that are coming
forward within their towns and neighbourhoods, in order that their
unique needs are met and delivered by those leading the projects,
including the council and private developers. The CRC also clearly
defines the roles and responsibilities of all stakeholder's
involved in regeneration and growth projects and will be
accompanied by a toolkit for its practical application
