Personnel Committee

The Personnel Committee is responsible for determining the terms and conditions of employment for council staff, including dismissal procedures, and for developing overall employment policies. It considers and makes recommendations on the Pay Policy Statement and determines collective disputes between the Council and unions. The committee also monitors management performance and oversees organisational improvement plans. It has delegated specific functions to several sub-committees, including those for interviewing chief officers, disciplinary matters, employment appeals, and grievances.
