Purpose

NOTICE is hereby given that East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 84 (1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers, which will reduce the speed limit in the following length of road;

Decision

SCHEDULE ONE - 30mph Speed Limit

C208 Horebeech Lane, Horam From its junction with the A267 Little London Road, south-eastwards to a point 6 metres north-west of its junction with Laundry Lane.


SCHEDULE TWO - 40 mph Speed Limit

C406 Laundry Lane, Horam From its junction with C208 Horebeech Lane, north-eastwards for a distance of 270 metres.
C208 Marle Green, Horam From a point 6 metres north-west of its junction with C406 Laundry Lane, south-eastwards for a distance of 737 metres.


A copy of the Order which will come into effect on 2 November 2026, plan showing the lengths of road, the order being revoked and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing the Order may be inspected in Reception, East Sussex County Council, County Hall, St Anne’s Crescent, Lewes BN7 1UE on Monday to Friday between 9am and 4pm and online at;

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act of 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Road Traffic Regulation Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks of 30 October 2026, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
