their preparation of a Local Nature Recovery Strategy for Devon,
including Exeter.
Content
To provide consent that Devon
County Council should proceed to the public consultation stage in
their preparation of a Local Nature Recovery Strategy for Devon,
including Exeter.
Reasons for the decision
Devon County Council (DCC) are
nominated as the ‘responsible authority’ leading the
initiative with the other district councils acting as
‘supporting authorities’.
DCC requests our consent to proceed to meet the deadlines set by UK
government for these new strategies.
Alternative options considered
Additional scrutiny of the
draft strategy could be undertaken before proceeding, but the
process will be followed by requests for formal responses from the
supporting authorities – therefore closer scrutiny will be
facilitated by these next stages.
Was an Equality Impact Assessment carried out
and what were the findings
Not applicable – DCC as
the responsible authority are preparing the LNRS together with a
detailed consultation plan for the next stage which will both be
subject to Equality Impact Assessments.
