Holder for Refuse and Recycling, Parks and Open Spaces has decided
to purchase services to provide website integration with
back-office systems, including payments, in-cab and finance for
refuse, recycling and commercial waste services.

A
waiver has been agreed by the Chair of Overview and Scrutiny
because of the time limited nature of this issue.
 
The
company who provides the direct debit process, which is directly
linked to our website, internal accounts and back-office systems
has said they can no longer provide the service with the current
system.
 
To
have a realistic chance of making all these changes ahead of the
service going on sale again in January 2026, we will need to place
orders with contractors immediately for the required development
and delivery of solutions.

Withdrawal of existing direct debit service
provider with immediate effect. 

Alternative options considered

To no longer offer
direct debit option. This was discounted because 88% of garden
waste customers have direct debits in place.
