The Portfolio Holder is
requested to agree the or order (and thus purchase) of a 26-tonne
refuse freighter via the RECAP Vehicle Framework for work within
the Refuse and Recycling service.
 
It is expected that the vehicles will be £233,000 in
total; with capital budget agreed by Council for
2026/2027.
 
The vehicles being replaced are between 10 years old and
will be sold or scrapped, with a current frontline vehicle moving
to ensure that we continue to have a suitable level of spare
vehicles.
 
Decision
To purchase a suitable 26-tonne
refuse collection vehicle via the current RECAP Vehicle Replacement
Framework, with payment upon delivery in 2026/2027.

Reasons for the decision

This is a vehicle purchase
within the Fleet Forward Plan as approved by Cabinet and Council on
15 September 2025.
