The Portfolio Holder is
requested to agree the or order (and thus purchase) of a 26-tonne
refuse freighter and 12 Tonne refuse freighter via the RECAP
Vehicle Framework for work within the Garden Waste
service.
 
It is expected that the vehicles will be £388,000 in
total; with capital budget agreed by Council for
2026/2027.
 
The vehicles being replaced are between 10 and 15 years old
and will be sold or scrapped, with a current frontline vehicle
moving to ensure that we continue to have a suitable level of spare
vehicles.
 
Decision:
To
purchase a suitable 26 Tonne and 12 Tonne refuse collection vehicle
via the current RECAP Vehicle Replacement
Framework,with payment upon delivery in
2026/2027.

Reasons for the decision

These are vehicle purchases
within the Fleet Forward Plan as approved by Cabinet and Council on
15 September 2025.
