To place an order to the value
of £34,640 with Pool Tech Services, following a procurement
process, for the installation of a Hyprolyser unit to replace the existing end of
useful life chlorination equipment at the Hudson Leisure
Centre.
Reasons for the decision
Following a recent regular
maintenance visit the 23+ year old chlorine dosing system for the
Hudson Leisure Centre has been declared beyond useful
life. As a critical piece of equipment
required to keep the pool open and safe, replacement before
complete failure is essential.
·
Existing equipment is beyond useful life and is
critical for the functioning of the swimming pool.
·
A procurement exercise has been conducted following
FDC’s procurement policy and Pool Tech Services have offered
the cheapest quotation to carry out the required works.
·
FDC has a budget for condition survey works within
the capital programme. As replacement of a whole capital asset, FDC
is bound by the contract with Freedom to carry out this
replacement.
Alternative options considered
None – this is critical
equipment and it’s failure is not something to
risk.
