Purpose

To place an order, following
the FDC procurement process, for the renovation and reinstatement
of the Manor Leisure Centre dryside changing rooms to be used from
May 2026 onwards.

These currently unused rooms
will be brought back into service so that the paying members have
somewhere to change and wash whilst works are happening in the
wetside building – irrespecitive of whether the major
development comments or just the conditions survey works move
forward instead.

Content

To place an order with Turner
Contracting Ltd for the value specified following a procurement
process for the renovation and reinstatement of the dryside
changing rooms at Manor Leisure Centre.

Reasons for the decision

·
If the major redevelopment of the swimming pool
proceeds, the gym will move to the sport hall building and changing
rooms will be required. If the major redevelopment does not proceed
and the conditions survey works move forwards instead, the
renovation of the pool building will require these changing rooms
for gym users during condition survey works.

•    A
procurement exercise has been conducted following FDC’s
procurement policy and Turner Contracting Ltd have offered the
cheapest quotation to carry out the required works. The Procurement
Manager has reviewed the procurement and is satisfied with the
winning bid, with it demonstrating value for money.

•    FDC
has a budget for condition survey works within the capital
programme.

Alternative options considered

None – there is no other
space available to do these works.
