Purpose

To provide an update on Specialist Provision
and ALN Funding.

Content

(a)     That the scale of the
demand-led financial pressures facing schools and the Portfolio in
order to make suitable provision for children with Additional
Learning Needs, be acknowledged;

 

(b)     That the pressures
within the context of the Council’s Medium Term Financial
Strategy and future budget allocations be noted;

 

(c)     That the Chair, on
behalf of the Committee, write to the Senior Manager (Inclusion and
Progression) to thank her and the Additional Learning Team for
their hard work and their achievements with reduced budgets;
and 

 

(d)     That the Committee
request that the option of utilising, the additional funding of
£1.205m from the introduction of the funding floor by Welsh
Government (WG) for local authority funding, allocated to reserves
at the County Council meeting on 24th February 2025, for the
Additional Learning Team, be investigated.
