Purpose

To scrutinise, and endorse, the local
authority’s achievements, and planned activity, in response
to the Health and Social Care (Wales) Act 2025 Bill which has been
designed to eliminate profit from the care of looked after
children.

Content

(a)     
That the Committee support the local
authority’s plan to develop in house fostering and
residential care to facilitate placement sufficiently in line with
the Health and Social Care (Wales) Act 2025;

 

(b)    That the
Committee support an annual review of the local authority’s
development plan for in house fostering and residential to ensure
an informed and responsive approach based on known, and forecasted
placement need and to take account of developing local ‘not
for profit’ care provision; and

 

(c)     That
the Chair, on behalf of the Committee, write to all Teams to thank
them for their hard work.
