Purpose

To provide a progress report on the local
authority statutory duty under the Childcare Act (2006) in relation
to childcare sufficiency and information for families and provide
assurance to members.

Content

(a)     
That Members noted the progress and impact of the five-year
Childcare Sufficiency Assessment and annual action plan;

 

(b)     
That Members acknowledged the complimentary response from Welsh
Government in relation to the Childcare Sufficiency Assessment
progress Report of 2024-25 (Appendix 2); and

 

(c)      
That Members noted the ongoing progress in delivering accurate and
accessible information to families through the Family Information
Service, supporting informed choices on childcare, early years
education, family support, and related services.
