Purpose

This report provides an update on the
development of proposals for a future franchised bus network. It
seeks Cabinet support to advance to the next phase, which includes
detailed planning and the commencement of stakeholder and public
engagement activities.

Content

(a)      
That Cabinet supports the request to advance to detailed planning
and stakeholder engagement; and
 
(b)       That Cabinet
supports the process of future engagement with Members.
 

(c)        That
Cabinet support the Aspirational Position but also request that
Welsh Government utilises this opportunity to allow possible
nationalisation of our bus network by allowing Local Authorities to
run their own bus company, allowing money to stay within our
communities and reducing profits being drained from Wales.
