Purpose

To review and comment on the budget pressures
under the remit of the Committee.

Content

(a)    That the Committee
reviewed and challenged the Social Services portfolio’s cost
pressures and actions to impact on the associated overspend in
2025/26; and

 

(b)    That the Committee
noted the lengthy processes and timelines for
delivering  Extra Care and recommended
that this cost pressure is deferred to 2026/27.   The Committee also noted the need to
ascertain feasibility of current/projected need, sustainability and
revenue funding aligned to capital development of Extra Care.
