Purpose

To update on the final budget proposals for
2026/27.

Content

RESOLVED:
 
(a)       That the revised
additional budget requirements for 2026/27 be noted and
approved;
 
(b)       That the final
proposals for the cost reductions that will contribute to the
budget be approved;
 
(c)        That Cabinet
recommends to Council a legal and balanced budget based on the
calculations set out within the report;
 
(d)       That Cabinet notes
the open risks which remain to be managed in the 2026/27 financial
year;
 
(e)       That Cabinet
recommends:
 
1.   
An annual increase in Council Tax for 2026/27 of 4.98% for Council
Services
2.   
A further 0.48% annual increase for contribution to North Wales
Fire and Rescue Service
 
This constitutes an overall uplift of
5.46%.
 
(f)        That Cabinet
invites Council to pass the formal Council Tax resolution now that
notification of the precepts of the Police and Crime Commissioner
and all Town and Community Councils within Flintshire had been
received; and
 
(g)       That Cabinet notes
the medium-term forecast as a basis for the next revision of the
Medium-Term Financial Strategy (MTFS).
