Purpose

To present the Youth Justice Plan.

Decision

(a)        That the Committee is assured that the strategic and operational priorities in the Youth Justice Plan will enable the Council to meet its legislative requirements under the Crime and Disorder Act 1998; and

(b)        That the Committee is assured that the strategic and operational priorities in the Youth Justice Plan will effectively support young people already within the criminal justice system but are also designed to deter children and young people from offending; and

(c)        That a letter be written to Welsh Government to outline the concerns around grant funding and the continuation of unsecured annual grants, including the need for funding to match inflation rises; and

(d)        That the Committee write to the Senior Manager for Flintshire Youth Justice Service and Sorted thanking him and his Team for all of the positive work outlined within the Youth Justice Plan 2026-2029.
