Purpose

This report explains the findings of the recent informal parking consultation on proposals to introduce parking controls in parts of Cheriton as shown in appendix 1. The recommendations reflect the responses received. 

Decision

DECISION:

1. 1.          To receive and note Report C/24/07.
2. That the parking proposals are not progressed
3. 3.          That officers continue to monitor parking in the area, particularly around Cheriton Road and Cheriton High Street, where there are existing limited waiting restrictions.
4. 4.          That officers monitor parking in Coombe Road, Park Road, St George's Road and Morehall Avenue, where there is some support for restrictions.

Reasons for decision:

The Cabinet Member for Transport, Regulatory Services and Building Control is asked to agree the recommendations because the responses received indicate a majority of respondents are not in favour of parking controls to be introduced.
