Purpose

This report provides information on the opportunity to bid for the monitoring service for the schemes and social housing telecare systems currently operated by Ashford Borough Council (ABC). ABC have made the decision to cease their lifeline service and are seeking an operator to carry out these services.

Decision

DECISION:

1. 1.          To receive and note report C/24/35.
2. 2.          To note that Officers will be submitting the tender on the 20th September 2024 as requested by Ashford Borough Council.
3. 3.          To provide delegated authority to the Director of Housing & Operations to enter into the contract should the Council be successful in its bid.

Reasons for decision:

The Cabinet Member for Community & Collaboration is asked to consider the matters raised in the report, note the very short timescale for tender returns and provide delegated authority to the Director of Housing & Operations to accept the contract award should the council be successful in its bid.
