Purpose

To seek approval for a direct award to Central Security Systems Ltd (CCS) for a 3-year contract to supply and install equipment required to maintain and expand the Council's CCTV infrastructure.

To ensure continuity of current Gedling Borough Council Public Space Surveillance System which, whilst non-Statutory is a critical function and its failure will have a significant impact on the reputation of the Council and public safety.

Alternative options considered

Go out to tender via Council’s e-Tendering system or use a procurement framework. These options would result in a new provider, however there are significant risks highlighted above and staff resources.
