Purpose

To seek Cabinet approval to modify the council’s existing contracts for the provision of recycling, general waste, food and confidential collection services across participating schools and the council’s corporate estate properties by extending their terms for a period of twenty four months, from 30 April 2027 to 30 April 2029.

Decision

Cllr Colin Hay sought Cabinet approval to modify the council’s existing contracts for the provision of recycling, general waste, food and confidential collection services across participating schools and the council’s corporate estate properties by extending their terms for a period of twenty four months, from 30 April 2027 to 30 April 2029.

Having considered all of the information, Cabinet noted the report and RESOLVED to:

  1. Approve a proposed twenty-four month extension (commencing 1 May 2027) to the term of the council’s following contracts:

The council’s contract with Smiths Gloucester Limited relating to the collection of recycling waste, general waste and food waste from participating schools and the council’s corporate estate properties and.

The council’s contract with Shred Station relating to the collection of confidential waste from participating schools and the council’s corporate estate properties.

The above extensions will be implemented by means of contract modifications.

  1. Approve a twenty-four-month extension (commencing 1 May 2027) to the term of the Council’s call-off contract for all properties listed in Appendix 1 for the provision of recycling, general waste, food and confidential collection service at the Council’s corporate properties under the council’s framework for the provision of such services, together with the related call-off contracts currently in place for the participating schools. The extension shall be implemented by means of a contract modification to each call-off contract.
