Purpose

In May 2025, the new Police (Vetting) Regulations were introduced. To ensure the effective running of the Appeal Tribunals, the Northwest held a training session for 20 IPMs in July and August 2025. They were entitled to the half day rate for the training which is £178.50. So that is total of £3,570.00 for vetting training attendees. The vetting training our region organised was done via Sancus and cost £1,000.

In May 2024, The Police (Conduct) (Amendment) Regulations 2024 were introduced. To ensure the effective running of Police Misconduct Hearings under these regulations, the Northwest held a training session for three new LQPs, including Derek Artis, Kaleel Anwar, and Holly Scott. All of these LQPs are entitled to a full day payment for this training, which is £511.56 per attendee, totalling £1534.68.

The total cost came to £6104.68 and has been divided equally between Lancashire OPCC, Cheshire OPCC, Merseyside OPCC, Cumbria OPCC, and Greater Manchester Combined Authority.
