Purpose
This 12-month grant funding extension is part of the wider package of tailored victim support extensions that have recently been awarded. It will enable the continuation of support services whilst an independent research report into the victims of crime sector is finalised as well as completion of a commissioning strategy and strategic needs assessment. GMCA will then be in an informed position to make evidenced decisions and commit to longer multi-year grant offers to providers, adding stability to the sector.
GMCA are aware that there are currently ongoing community tensions and challenges facing Jewish communities in Greater Manchester with dedicated support required.
This funding will provide the Community Security Trust with a Senior Incidents Caseworker, which will ensure victims of antisemitism receive specialist, trauma informed support and expert casework, acting as a key liaison between victims, CST, statutory agencies, and community partners. The role involves overseeing incident triage and data integrity, guiding victims through the criminal justice process, coordinating legal and wellbeing support, and managing complex or long-term cases.
It also includes building sector specific partnerships, influencing institutional outcomes, contributing to policy and research, and representing CST in high level forums. Additionally, the role leads community engagement through outreach, training, and capacity building initiatives to strengthen communal responses to antisemitism.
Decision
£48,750.00 be committed to award 12-month extension to Community Security Trust (CST) for 1 X Senior Incident Caseworker. This award is part of the wider Ministry of Justice Victims of crime grant funding agreements between 1st April 2026 - 31 March 2027 and is an extension of last year’s grant award.
