Purpose

The GM Complex Safeguarding Hub plays a pivotal role in the coordination of Greater Manchester’s Complex Safeguarding teams and partners. This event will host managers from all local authorities, health and police professionals to discuss any upcoming policy and/or practice changes that will impact them significantly.

The session will focus on the recent decision for GMP to extend support for young people up to the age of 25, aligned with transitional safeguarding priorities, and the implications of this change for operational practice. The aim is to ensure a consistent and aligned approached across partner agencies and strengthen shared understanding of responsibilities.

Decision

GMCA Complex Safeguarding wishes to pay £1,200 from the Complex Safeguarding Budget to the Alan Hotel, to host an event in July 2026 bringing together a network of partners across Greater Manchester to discuss continuous professional development.
