Purpose

The Greater Manchester Violence Reduction Strategy, ‘Greater than Violence’, includes a commitment that the Greater Manchester VRU will further strengthen its partnership with the voluntary sector, ensuring the voices of communities – including those with lived experience – inform and influence the approach to tackling violence in the city-region.

The Community-led Network for Violence Reduction is acting on this commitment, and brings together Voluntary, Community, Faith, and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector organisations across Greater Manchester to shape, influence, and deliver collaborative action that supports the GM Violence Reduction Strategy, Greater than Violence.

The Network provides a collective voice, strengthens partnership working, and ensures that community-led approaches remain central to violence reduction across the city-region.

This event will support the work of the Community-Led Network for Violence Reduction moving forward, therefore supporting the delivery of the Greater than Violence strategy.

Decision

GMCA are seeking to make the following payment for the venue and catering for the Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) Community-Led Network meeting on 2nd June 2026.

HOME Theatre & Wardley Ltd

A payment to be made of a maximum of £1,000.00 (+VAT) to book space for up to 40 attendees, use of screen/IT facilities and refreshments (standard tea and coffee package and lunch) for all attendees.

Payments will be split as follows:

• Payments for venue hire will be to HOME Theatre (£346.50 + VAT).

• Payments for refreshments and catering will be to Wardley Ltd, HOME’s caterer. Final costs will be confirmed closer to the date depending on final attendee numbers, but are not anticipated to exceed £653.50.
