Purpose

The Let’s Be Blunt roundtable takes place on 5 June 2026. Over 230 strategic leads will be in attendance, and speakers include Kate Green, ACC Matt Boyle, Policing Minister Sarah Jones, Jess Phillips MP and campaigner Pooja Kanda.

There has been significant investment by Let’s Be Blunt and VRU in bringing this event together, and it would be remiss not to capture the event for promotion of the campaign on the VRU website / example of excellent partnership working.

The VRU have conducted due diligence with Manchester Community Films, who have recently made a film with St Peter’s School (Longsight) in collaboration with MCC and VRU.

*Manchester Community Films are aware that any recordings will be subject to VRU (Comms) scrutiny before any final edit, and no material will be published prior to 19 June (embargo due to Makerfield election).

Decision

The VRU will pay £1,650 to engage Manchester Community Films to professionally film the event / interviews from the Let’s Be Blunt roundtable on 5th June 2026 for use on Let’s Be Blunt website and VRU website.
