Purpose

GMCA approved Adult Skills Fund allocations for academic year 2026/27 in June 2026 as part of the decision on the future shape of the GM Adult Skills system.
The Adult Skills Funding rules allow learners to begin learning in one academic year and complete it in the next, with funding apportioned accordingly. This decision seeks approval for the above values to be added to the allocations for the 2026/27 academic year, ensuring learners who have already started their training or qualification can complete their programme. This is known as ‘continuing learners’, which is calculated annually based on live delivery data.

Decision

A total award of £1,349,581.56 will be distributed to the institutions listed below to support the delivery of Adult Skills Fund (ASF) Core and Level 3 provision for continuing learners in academic year 2026/27. These allocations are in addition to each institution's main 2026/27 ASF allocation and reflect funding required to enable learners who commenced their programme in a previous academic year to continue and complete their learning. The allocations are based on live delivery data from academic year 2025/26:
