Purpose

The PSHE resource and programme would be delivered annually to:
• state secondary schools
• independent (private) secondary schools
• primary schools

Each school will receive staff time per year to cover all associated activity, including distribution of the resource, responding to school queries, light-touch support, follow-up, monitoring usage and capturing evaluation data.

This will be delivered across over 1,200 schools (approx. 430 hours).

Schools would be offered a travelling exhibition if they wanted it for periods of 3 weeks each on a rotating basis.

Decision

Funding of £7,006.72 is approved to award a one off grant payment to The Fed.

This is for the annual distribution, monitoring and evaluation of The Fed’s My Voice PSHE resource to be provided to schools across the 10 boroughs of Greater Manchester.

The content is informed directly by real-life testimonies of holocaust survivors and refugees, including those from across Greater Manchester and beyond. The Fed has existing knowledge of this unique storytelling project from working closely with the local Jewish Community from across Greater Manchester.

The project and resources will help students to explore different topics such as empathy, tackling hate, respect, prejudice and understanding intolerance.

The PSHE resource will be used to support education, enable schools to strengthen cohesion and understanding with their pupils and provide schools with additional materials for them to use.
