Purpose

The GBV Lived Experience Panel have a key role shaping the planning and delivery of services across Greater Manchester. Given the nature of this work, panel members draw upon the insights from their own lived experiences of gender-based violence to inform policy development and service improvement. While steps are put in place to limit the impact of this on the individuals concerned, participation may result in discussing sensitive subject matter that may trigger traumatic memories. In some circumstances such as these and where the individual expresses a need, counselling may be required to safeguard participants' wellbeing.
TLC provide support for people dealing with a broad spectrum of issues. The type and length of counselling will be dependent on individual need and preference.

TLC offer tailored, individual support on a flexible, ad hoc basis. As the requirements of each panel member may differ, support offered will include general advice and signposting, practical and emotional support and, if required, counselling from Now You’re Talking (NYT).
