Purpose

To determine the outcome of the
statutory process on the proposal to close Gallions Mount Primary School. This will include
considering the outcome of the Equalities Impact Assessment
undertaken and the measures identified to mitigate the impacts of
the decision to close the school.

Content

Considered
the outcomes of the non-statutory consultation and
the Statutory Notice/Representation periods, as outlined in
Appendices 1 and 2 of the report respectively, when determining the
proposal to close Gallions Mount Primary School, effective 31
August 2025.
 
Took into account
the Equalities Impact Assessment (EqIA), detailed in
Appendix 3, when making the decision regarding the proposal to
close Gallions Mount Primary School, effective 31 August
2025.
 
Noted
that no viable alternatives exist to keep Gallions
Mount Primary School open and eliminate the accrued deficit without
negatively impacting the education of the children on its roll and
the Council’s finances.  
 
In view of paragraphs above,
approved the proposal to close Gallions Mount Primary
School, effective 31 August 2025.
