1.           
Agreed to consult and publish a statutory public
notice to establish a school-based Special Educational Needs (SEN)
unit at Fossdene Primary School effective September 2025 for
children with autism and complex learning needs, creating up to 16
places (2 classrooms).
 
2.           
Noted three school proposals at Fossdene Primary
School, Thorntree Primary School and St Margaret Clitherow Catholic
Primary School to permanently increase their age range from nursery
age three to statutory reception age five by closing their
school-based nursery provisions, effective September
2025[1]. 
 
3.           
Delegated to the Director of Children’s
Services the authority to conduct the consultation exercise at
Fossdene Primary School, review the outcomes and then bring forward
a decision proposal to the Leader.
