Noted the decision of the
Margaret McMillan Sub Committee dated 26 March 2025 and agree to
the proposed disposal of the Margaret Macmillan Field Study Centre,
Wrotham, Kent TN15 7JN (“the Site”) subject to Heads of
Terms in Exempt Appendix B and compliance with Section 121
Charities Act 2011.
 
Noted that Council was being
asked to make the decision required in its capacity as Trustee of
the Margaret Macmillan Trust.
 
Noted that the site has been
marketed subject to Council and Charity approval, bids have been
received as set out in Exempt Appendix A and that a preferred
bidder has been identified.
 
Noted the recommendation of the
Charities Report provided in Exempt Appendix C.
 
Delegated authority to the
Director of Place and Growth to manage the process under section
121 of the Charities Act 2011 as amended and complete the disposal
with the identified bidder or a subsequent purchaser should the
disposal to the preferred bidder not proceed for any
reason.
 
Agreed to treat the information
presented in Appendices A, B and C as exempt under the provisions
of the Local Government Act 1972, Schedule 12A, and that this
information is not subsequently released to the press or
public.
