Content
1.
Noted the consultation feedback received to date
from the Sustainable Streets engagement programme.
2.
Agreed that officers proceed to detailed design for
the Woolwich area of the Sustainable Streets programme,
incorporating all consultation feedback, and prepare for formal
consultation.
3.
Noted the feedback received from the Sustainable
Streets consultation in Charlton, Kidbrooke & Blackheath, and
West Thamesmead, and:
3.1 Discontinue the consultation
process in Charlton, Kidbrooke & Blackheath, and West
Thamesmead areas, withdrawing the proposals in these
locations;
3.2 Recognise, however, that there
is ongoing need and growing demand for sustainable transport
improvements in these areas, and so proposals for measures such as
street trees, Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging, Car Club spaces,
cycle storage and other sustainability focused interventions may be
brought forward on an individual basis;
4.
Agreed to the formal withdrawal of Sustainable
Street proposals in Plumstead and Shooters Hill.
5.
Asked the Chief Officer to commence with the
advertising of Notice of Proposals to initiate the Formal
Consultation in the locations described above (see Appendices
E).
6.
Agreed that the results of the statutory (formal)
consultation and design developments are reported to the Cabinet
Member for Climate Action, Sustainability and Transport to approve
any further progression.
