1.   
Noted that Council successfully submitted a funding
bid to the Governments’ Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme
(PSDS) Phase 3b to replace the current fossil fuel heating system
with low carbon heating source at 6 schools in the Borough
(Appendix A). The Council’s Section 151 Officer has signed
the grant letter.
 
2.   
Noted that a Grant of £1,968.603 has been
allocated to Council for the Schools estate over a two-year period
(Appendix B).
 
3.   
Accepted the decarbonisation grant via Section 31 of
the Local Government Act 2003 (s.31) from the Department for
Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS).
 
4.   
Approved that the amount of £1,968.603  be added to the Capital programme
for implementation.
 
5.   
Approved Council’s contribution of
£579,524.78 as match funding, this will be funded from the
Department for Education (DfE) School Condition Allocation for the
2023/25 financial year.
 
6.   
Delegated to the Director of Regeneration,
Enterprise and Skills (in liaison with
the Director of Children’s Services) the ability to enter
into direct agreements with schools and other parties in order to
secure the targeted long-term carbon reduction benefits following
the implementation of the project. This would be subject to a
separate report on the Council’s Corporate
Template.
