To approve the grant of the Occupational Licence to carry out works
on land at Milkhouse Gate (part of Castle Car Park, Sydenham Road,
Guildford, GU1 3RW), to the owners of the London Camera Exchange
Ltd at
8 Tunsgate, GU1 3QT, in line with the following terms and
conditions:
The works will allow the licensee permission to create a new
opening for access in the Council’s wall to the rear of 8
Tunsgate, and to place a skip to receive waste on the
Council’s property while they carry out reconstruction works
to 8 Tunsgate. The works to 8 Tunsgate and the Council’s wall
are in accordance with planning permission 20/P/01399 dated
01/03/2022. A party wall award covers the works to the wall.
The licence fee is £1,600.
The agreed licence period is 4 months.
The fee is payable in advance with effect from the date of the
licence.
The Council will hold a damage deposit of £3,000 against
completion of the works to the Council’s satisfaction and
sign off by the surveyors named in the Party Wall Award.
The Council’s legal and surveyor’s costs of providing
the licence is repayable by the licensee.
The opening in the wall will allow a permanent shared means of
access to the rear of the ground floor shop and one self-contained
first floor flat. The decision to grant permission to a permanent
shared access across the Council’s land will be covered by an
easement under separate delegated authority.
