GBC requested Gleeds to undertake a restricted
competition for the demolition of the existing garages at Parsons
Green and the house at 16 Mangles Road.
The demolitions are required to provide a clear site ahead of
development.
The house at 16 Mangles Road lies on the route which the new water
supply pipe takes.
The demolition of the garages is required to provide replacement
parking for the spaces lost as a result of the Bellfields Road
Improvements.
Therefore Phase 1 cannot commence, and the Bellfields Road
Improvements cannot provide a complete solution until these
demolitions are completed.
Gleeds evaluated the bids on behalf of GBC and recommended that
Southern Demolition be awarded the contract on the following
basis:
•They provided the lowest of all the submitted tenders
•They have demonstrated a good understanding of the
Employer’s Requirements
•They have provided the most competitive programme
•They provided a reduced risk profile to that of the other
tenderers
Southern Demolition’s bid is for £62,748.
