The Council’s tenant Chambers Runfold
plc of the above property has requested that they be given licence
to allow the assignment of their lease in respect of 16 Westfield
Road.
For an assignment: Chambers Runfold plc to assign the lease to
Trinity Investments (Guildford) Limited. In accordance with the
Council’s General Disposal Consent powers, the proposed
assignment provides the ‘best consideration reasonably
obtainable’ where at the time of assignment the remaining
term exceeds seven (7) years.
The accounts have been supplied relating to the assignee and
although inferior to the assignor, there is no rent payable under
the lease – effectively the assignment is required due to a
transfer of the lease to the Directors pension Fund.
The Council cannot unreasonably withhold or delay consent for such
assignment/sub-letting.
