Decision:
To
approve the Building Safety Resident Engagement Strategy appended
to the report.
Reason(s):
1.
The
Building Safety Resident Engagement Strategy sets out how residents
living in high-rise buildings are informed and involved in building
safety decisions. High-rise buildings are defined as being at least
7 floors or 18 metres high and containing at least 2 residential
units.
2.
To comply
with the Building Safety Act 2022 that has additional requirements
for higher-risk buildings.
Other options considered and rejected by the
Executive:
To
defer the strategy for further review and development.
