Governance Reorganisation consultation and events
We're supporting residents,
businesses and community groups to have their say on the most
significant change to councils in Surrey for over 50
years.
The Government has launched a
public consultation on proposals to replace current councils with
up to three bigger councils in the county. Please let those in your
wards know about this. They have until Tuesday 5 August to respond
to the government consultation.
Please also invite people to
come along to our in person and online
engagement events to find out more:
·
at Guildhall, Guildford High Street on Thursday 24
July
·
at Theatre, Ash Manor School on Monday 28

·
online for businesses on Monday 28 July
·
online for the community on Monday 4

Annual Report to Tenants
Our 2024-25 Annual Report to
Tenants has been published. It highlights how tenant feedback is
driving real improvements in their housing services.
This report reflects our
ongoing commitment to transparency, accountability, and continuous
improvement. We're working hand in hand with tenants to build a
housing service that's safer, more responsive, and truly meets
their needs. We recognise the challenges our residents face and are
fully committed to responding with empathy, urgency, and care.
While we're proud of the progress we've made, we know there's still
more to do.
Work
on Toucan Crossing complete
Work to install a new toucan
crossing on Woking Road is now complete and in operation. This
improvement forms part of the wider Weyside Urban Village
regeneration highway improvements, which are designed to support
future development and encourage sustainable travel.
The next phase of highway works
will begin on Bellfields Road on Tuesday 23 July.
You can
find out more information on the Weyside Urban Village
website.
Guildford Flood Alleviation Scheme
The Environment Agency has
recently published the Feedback Report for the recent phase of
public engagement on the Guildford Flood Alleviation
Scheme.
The report captures key
insights from their February 2025 public events, online survey, and
stakeholder discussions. It reflects strong public support for the
scheme, alongside clear community preferences for green
landscaping, improved connectivity, and timely flood
protection.
You can view the full report on the Guildford Flood Alleviation
