The contract with our print mail supplier is
expired, as is the procurement framework.

The Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) must by law conduct the
annual electoral canvass in a prescribed manner using prescribed
forms and various other communication channels.

To conduct this statutory duty, the cost of print mail is expected
to be c.£50,000.

Reasons for the decision

To meet the statutory duty to conduct the
annual electoral canvass, August – November 2025 and prepare
the 2026 Electoral Register.

Alternative options considered

The print mail supplier is experienced in
providing this service to the ERO. It is not possible to operate at
risk with a new supplier, given the canvass timing.
