Objections to the developer's planning
application were received from Surrey County Council (SCC) and the
bus operators. Their objections related to the negative effect on
bus services caused by the removal of the southern entrance to the
bus station. This was one of the reasons for refusal of planning
consent. The developer will propose, in the revised planning
application, that a southern entrance is retained. This change is
required to remove SCC/Bus operator objections. To make this
change, under the Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA), the developer
requires GBC’s written consent, that cannot be unreasonably
withheld. Therefore, the Strategic Director of Place, in
consultation with the lead Councillor for Regeneration, intend to
use delegated powers to grant such consent.
