Decision to grant extension to the Access
Licence granted to Wates to undertake site investigation works at
Guildford Park relating to the proposed re-development.

Reasons for the decision

This is to help inform their detailed design
development by obtaining a more thorough understanding of the
ground conditions aligned with their proposed layout.

Alternative options considered

1.The alternative option is to not grant the
extension to the Access Licence which would be in breach of the
Development Agreement with Wates Construction Ltd. This option is
not recommended as it would delay project delivery until such time
as an alternative option was agreed. The Council has been working
to bring forward this site for development for at least the last
ten years, with a number of previous design iterations, a historic
planning consent and considerable Council resources expended to
date.
