To enter into Grant of lease and easements for
the substation site (GRP Kiosk) at New Waste Site, Slyfield ( New
GBC depot substation ) between (1) GBC and (2) South Eastern Power
Networks PLC.
The easements between (1) GBC and (2) South Eastern Power Networks
Plc include the following key terms and conditions:
Lease: In exchange for payment of £1.00 by UKPN to the
Council, the Council grants a 99 year lease of the Demised Premise
to UKPN with limited title guarantee for an annual peppercorn rent
(if demanded).
Demised Easements: UKPN are granted ancillary easement rights
including to:
•lay and maintain electricity cables under, through and along
the Brown Land, and thereafter use, retain, maintain and inspect
the electricity cables;
•open gates and doors along the boundary of the Demised
Premises;
•to discharge surface water onto the Brown Land
•enter the Council's adjoining land and buildings to inspect,
maintain and repair the building and boundaries of the Demised
Premises.

To provide power to the new GBC Depot at
Weyside Urban Village.
Alternative options considered
The decision meets the statutory and policy
requirements for the Council and for development of the Weyside
Urban Village and there were no suitable alternative options
available.
